The Benefits of Policosanol
A review of 30 double-blind, placebo-controlled studies from 1967 to 2003 involving 4,596 patients shows that with daily intake of Policosanol, patients with various conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and coronary artery disease have achieved significantly lower LDL-C levels.

Lowers Cholesterol Significantly
Studies have noted that taking 10mg of Policosanol per day (preferably before sleeping when cholesterol manufacture is high) produces a cholesterol-lowering effect within the first 6 to 8 weeks. LDL-C levels dropped by 20% to 25% within six months while an increase in HDL-C levels was observed, leading to an improved LDL-C:HDL-C ratio. Best results can be observed after 2 months of continuous use.

SAFE. No Damage to Liver
Policosanol has no reported adverse effects to the liver even after prolonged use. A recent study has shown it is safe for the elderly population and people with diabetes, high cholesterol level or hypertension.*

*The study includes 2,252 patients over 60 years old, who were given 5 to 20mg of Policosanol daily for 3 years with no serious adverse effects reported.

Who Should Take Policosanol?
Persons with a family history
of high cholesterol and heart disease, obesity, a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy diet are more at-risk for heart disease.

Diabetics are 2 to 3 times more likely to suffer a heart attack or stroke because too much blood sugar is often linked to a high cholesterol level. Although derived from sugarcane wax, Policosanol is a mixture of alcohols and has no adverse effect to blood sugar health.
